International Project Meeting held in Helsinki
Intercultural education during distance learning – project implemented
under Erasmus +
Fin Edu Consulting Oy has teamed up an Erasmus+ project with Universities
from Poland, Czech Republic and Lithuania. Project meeting of Erasmus
+ ED_ON: Intercultural education during distance learning project that
the leader is the WSB Academy, and the partners are the University of
Ostrava from the Czech Republic, the University of Michal Römer from
Lithuania and the Fin Edu Consulting Oy from Finland held in
Helsinki.
Innovative methodological and didactic solutions, a program of
preschool and early school education developed by an international
team of experts and the creation of an e-learning platform. These are
only part of the assumptions of the project “ED-ON: Intercultural
education in the era of distance learning” implemented under Erasmus
+. Intercultural education should be dispelled and it is worth
investing in it, at every level of education. This applies especially
to the field of pre-school and early school education. By respecting
cultural differences, including those in the way of teaching, you can
learn a lot from yourself. I noticed this especially in the lectures
in Helsinki, where speaking of special education or teaching refugee
children, it was talked about as something unique, an added bonus. The
possibilities of such teaching and using it as a privilege were
presented – says Dr. Karolina Walancik from the WSB Academy, project
manager.
As part of the project, a remote meeting was already organized by the
WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza and a visit to Helsinki. Meetings in
Vilnius (March) and Ostrava (September) are scheduled for the next
year. The entire project will be summed up by the International
Conference to be held at the WSB Academy in February 2023.
